He was a remarkable man and mentor and is greatly missed.

Ben was the best friend I never actually met. We spoke on the phone a couple of times but exchanged almost daily emails until he became ill. I have been able to acquire about 100 of his flags so far including several CCCP flags, but mainly US unit flags. Ben was able to get most of his collection pre-internet. Just remarkable.
