DAF Podium Banner?

Hi guys,

I am posting this on behalf of a friend who is interested in purchasing this from his neighbor, whose grandpa brought it back from Europe after WWII. He asked me for assistance but I don't know too much about flags. My guess is that it's a DAF podium banner. He says it has the 'smell'. Can any of you gentlemen help out with authenticity and a value?
