Flag of the Old Guard of the NSDAP Flag cloth made of red silk, bordered on three sides with golden swastika braid and golden fringe hangings. On both sides there is a representation of the NSDAP's golden party badge in the finest brocade embroidery quality made of gold-plated and silver-plated metal threads and a black, white and red silk background. Highly important, unique flag with outstanding embroidery quality. Signs of wear commensurate with age, but overall in very nice condition. Attached to what was probably a later wooden pole using the slightly shortened fastening loops.

Dimensions approx. 115 x 135 cm. The flag tip in an impressive special version made of gold-plated bronze with a black painted swastika. Much more finely crafted than the regular NSDAP flag tips, which are always made of aluminum. Height approx. 255 mm. In the organizational handbook of the NSDAP, the flag of the Old Guard of the NSDAP is depicted among the numerous party flags as the second highest flag of the National Socialist movement, directly below the leader's standard, and is described as follows: "It is the symbol of the Old Guard and carries the NSDAP's Golden Badge of Honor on a red flag.

Every year it flutters ahead of the 500 senior party leaders on their journey through the German districts." Similar to the other important flags of the NSDAP, especially the "Blood Flag", the flag of the old guard was kept particularly carefully and only flown on very special occasions. The Corps of Old Fighters, also known as the Old Guard, consisted of party members who had already belonged to the NSDAP from 1919 to 1923, such as the members of the "Stoßrupp Adolf Hitler" or the participants in the Hitler putsch in Munich in 1923.

After the NSDAP was re-founded in February 1925, they were able to rejoin under their old membership number and/or received one of the 550 reserved membership numbers. On the occasion of the annual celebrations on 8/9. The “Day of the Corps of Old Fighters” took place in Munich on November 1st.

Absolutely unique flag with outstanding manufacturing quality. In contrast to the "Deutschland Erwache" standards of the SA, SS, NSKK, etc., which were issued in a total of several hundred copies, there was only this single flag for the "Old Guard". The piece was acquired from the family by the well-known collector, dealer and specialist book author Lothar Hartung and sold to an important private collector. Unique museum object and ideal for a scientific exhibition on the history of the NSDAP. 1-2 €130,000.00

shall be interesting to see if it sell this time and for how much, after looking at some of the items at HH auction there some collectors with deep pockets for sure.
