I'm not a flag guy but looks like a nice original piece. That said, I don't see any attachment points/loops. I would assume it was not military, just patriotic.

Thanks for the input. The top of the flag is stitched over to allow a rope or string to pass through it.

Very nice little Party flag! I especially like the maker's tag. As a plain flag, it could have been used by anyone for basically anything. The sleeve style edge is a commonly seen hanging variant.

Even if it's not unique, it's a valuable piece of history all the same. I was just happy to find one that hadn't been feasted on by moths!

Thanks for the kind words, folks. Bought it from none other than Bill Shea at the Ruptured Duck. A very well known dealer, although shipping from the US to the UK can end up being quite expensive if you're not careful.
