    I wonder if there are any sword smiths in Toledo today that could produce a blade of that quality? I doubt it, most of what I have seen of recent Toledo is tourist level low grade stuff. But I'm willing to be surprised.

    The best damast blades we see are produced during the last 2-3 decades of the imperial period (1890-1918) i have a couple of German damast HF with wild damast and etches, and looking at the damast daggers of the Imperial German navy, well nothing compares to what they made these days.
