    Could be a Hunting hirschfanger, most likely late 1880's to early 1900's. No etched blade so possibly a practical blade for hunting use as well.

    I assume this is the correct timeframe, that is also confirmed by the Jagers knot, that one was abandoned after 1918 if i recall that correct.

    Besides the very salty condition i cant see anything wrong....


    Here a few pics of how the knot looked like, although the one i show is an Oberjäger one, and yours seems to be the standard Jagers knot.
