Hi All .... I thought I’d add this to the Forum as I’ve been taking a few pictures.
I had it about 20-25 years or so.
It lives on the same shelf next to the Foresters Subordinate that I posted earlier.
Views and Comments appreciated.
Thanks

Hey Stevade,
Nice piece you have. It is I believe as Ger states a post 1945 Production piece. I have always studied that the etched blade and squirrels feet facing towards guard points to post war production. Here is an example for sale that is a 1960s production. Time Traveler - WW2 German Deluxe Senior Forestry Cutless
Here is an early Weimar piece Wittmann has on his site:
Wittmann Militaria #35819 Weimar Period Hunting Cutlass by Carl Eickhorn

One question Ger, if it's post WW2, why didn't they use the "head looking over the shoulder" logo, which dates from about 1942, rather than this type, which was used earlier? I've seen the Eickhorn KCB bayonets from the early 1970's which used the "looking back squirrel" as well.
Thanks for your comments all.
Well had I have known this 20 years ago!!! ... And it came from one of the leading Dealers in the UK ..
It is not a terrible oversight on your part, and probably common for alot of people unknowing, I actually learned about it from one of wittmanns videos years ago, at least it's not a post war SS!! Still a beautiful piece.
Thanks all for comments ... it will be surplus to my collection now!
