A great looking display case. I can think of a few of our fellow collectors with growing collection who could use something like this. I should really do something like this myself. The bulk of my buckles are in raker mounts stacked in a gun safe.
Here is a case I got at ikea. It works well with buckles but I ended up using a couple of these for other things.

At last a vacation day, use it or lose it, so pulled the boxes out and took a group pic - good to review

Add a couple of buckles a month and you'll have a nice collection in a few years.
No, they didn't. The black buckle with the Edelweiss is a re-stamped army buckle
(done when the war was over). If you look well you can see the vertical "stripes"
for the wings. I thought I did recognize this buckle as coming from my old collection,
but close comparing it with an old photo I must say, it is not. My buckle you can see
on page 27 from Angolia's "Belt Buckles and Brocades of the Third Reich". As
far as I rmember the re-stamped buckle was in use by the Bavarian police!
When I bought such buckle in about 1975 I had lots of correspondence with the
Gebirgsjäger-commander at Salzburg. He said they never had their specific buckle
with Edelweiss, during the TR-period. I had not noticed the stripes before, but he
pointed this out to me.
