    Default German officer's belt identification

    Hello.
On behalf of a fellow french forum member I would like to ask for opinions about a leather belt that was found in a german garbage bin some 25 to 30 years ago.
The thing is made of really good quality leather, the buckle looks like solid brass, the stitches are made of black thread, and it seems that there was at some point a green felt lining, which is odd because there are no holes to sew it and keep it in place, and it doesn't seem that this lining has been glued directly on to the belt either.
Here are some pictures to go with the description :

If more are required I will ask for more, and eventhough I am not at all convinced at all that this is a WW2 relic I decided to to treat it as the owner would have.
Thanks and a nice day to all of you.
