Very pleased with the book. The chapters on early nickel and conversion buckles are great. Lots of manufacturers I have never seen before. I have been able to ID several makers on some of my buckles.
Love to see a second volume covering DLV, Luftwaffe and SS. JP did a great job on his Ultimate SS Buckles to Collect thread. I would like to see it in a book form like this.
All the best

Thank you Kirby! I'm ready to publish a book on SS buckles. But, unfortunately, the material that I have is not enough for this. And as far as I know, J. P. was going to release the book himself. If this is not the case, then I will be happy to do it with his help!

Great book ! Got a copy ( pretty bad I have not seen this thread earlier, cause bought a bit longer way with a middle man from Latvia which looks to reap me off a bit and 'borrow'(forever) book slip wrap as paid for it more than priced here).
One small remark ; books in not about complete WH asit was ; book refers to Heer and KM buckles only and missing LW buckles (WH consists from Heer, KM and LW). Hope you will be writing a LW buckle book soon as supplement
And I'm waiting now for your book about ASS and WSS buckles ( hope you write one soon !!)!!
Once again ; GREAT BOOK! Recommend to everyone !

Was just looking through your book again, and in belt section I have spot one problem; the web belt from page 419 is a not original - it is a repro (most probably reworked from postwar soviet belt) .

I remember JP saying he isn’t going write a book. His Ultimate SS buckles to collect thread was basically writing a book and his good by to the hobby.

I wish they all could be (and 99.9% are ), but unfortunately in this particular case it is not. I'm almost 25 years in 'business' and was collecting DAK ( or overasll tropical equipment) for almost decade (still have a lot of german webbing) and I can assure you that the belt in page 419 is not original/wartime web belt. The webbing is incorrect ( the wave) as well as the leather. It is recent repro (and in most cases sold as repro), but some crooks sell them on ebay as originals (like guy whose nickname is 'porre' who sells repro junk as originals).
As mentioned earlier; the book is great and this the only 'flaw' in whole book I have noticed.

If the web belt on page 419 is a reproduction it would fool most collectors. Has anyone seen a well worn original set marked like this?
