Sorry, I should have phrased this more clearly.
Just to avoid confusion: This was a badge of the ethnic German community in Romania, so "any German" was referring to any German living in Romania, whether he was an E.S./D.M. member or not.
(German citizens resident in the Reich and ethnic Germans in foreign countries other than Romania would not have worn this badge.)
ohhh hahaha! That was my bad HPL, not yours. I should have realized that. Thank you for clearing that up for me

Hi Bill, super photo showing the Leistungsabzeichen.
Hi HPL, here is another one for you with the badge just peeking into the photo.
Cheers, Ade.
Ade, great portrait! I have had trouble finding others online to compare to mine, so this is nice to see. Thanks! I cant believe the photographer chose to cut off the badge!!?!
PAUL- Good Eye!! I definitely did not catch that! Too bad the photo isnt better detailed
Chris, I remember now....glad to see you scooped it. you have some neat varieties of unit histories

Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.

But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Ive got some Panzer Rgmt 2 related stuff. Such as a roster of the men serving in it's 1st Kompanie, along with the name of a Luetnant who was sent to serve as an aide to general Guderian-who promoted him to a Major. I have 2-3 pix somewhere that shows him with Guderian. Nice photo.
