Gefreiter Kroll, maybe a friend of the owner?
I translated the word kamerad and google gives me ''mate''.
Or does it mean comrade?

Alright.... Now this. is. incredible.
Look at the knocked-out tank in post # 932.
Now look at these pictures from the wartime photographs of my grandfather, who took part in the Western Campaign as an NCO with Infanterieregiment 62:
Same tank, same shop!!! Go figure... He was there on the same spot at roughly the same time period as the man who took your photographs.
THAT IS INSANE. I'm speechless. What a coincidence. Same place, same shop, same tanks from 2 different people of 2 different units in May 1940.
With your photos and mine, we have the 3 out of 4 angles of the same place.
I can't believe that Andreas. I'm glad you recognized the place and remembered that you had a picture of it

WoAhhhhhh!! How awesome!! Good thing you remembered that Andreas! Incredible veiws and angles from each side, how wonderful.
Do either of you know what part of France or the town name??
Chris, the tank on the bottom photo to the right is a French Hotchkiss "H1939" light tank. The French were using the H35 but then put a bigger 37mm gun on the H39.
The one that is KOd looks like the ww1 French Char B1 heavy tank.....one of the French's most used Assault tanks still used in ww2. (not the largest tho)
Oh ya, Chris maybe u can use the Volksbund site to get more info on the Grave of Herr Kroll. Sorry, Im not that great at using the site or else I would do it for you
