Guys we have already created a thread for this type of photo in this section !!

#4 - strategy planning in Poland. Officer on the right has the weirdest backing cloth material shape for his arm shield I have ever seen - certainly not original ...... maybe it's a polish fake?

Also note the medal loops on his tunic ......... but no medals??? ( probably lost them in a poker match )

So you see, there is ALWAYS something that defies our stereotyped mental images - truth IS stranger than fiction!
    Cheers, Dan
Looks like it is just a KRIM Shield on it's cloth backing sown onto a Summer lightweight tunic !!

Krim shields ( and all shields ) are on a shield shaped cloth backing though, not a large rectangular backing like this one.... that was the oddity I was pointing out.

Hi Kevin this is what caught my attention right away as well I would have expected the full beard in a Kriegmarine photo but not Luftwaffe and does any one recognize the award on the left hand pocket of the soldier to the right it would appear to be a sword.
