Woof! Woof!, Ned.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Very cool Ned! Im surprised there wasnt more photos of Dogs in the Pacific theatre w/ the GI's! Dogs and Dog handlers played an interesting role on the Pacific Islands in ww2. A neat thing that I learned from WW2 magazine a long time ago, was that Civilians actually donated there own dogs (mostly Shepherds) to be trained by the US Army for use in the Pacific. If the dog survived the war, then the civilian would actually get the dog back!!!! I thought that was incredible, but I could never give my dog up....then I wouldnt have many friends! haha
Good ones Patrick!
Here is a Polizei man with his HUND shepherd

Here are some. Plus my avatar photo. Sorry some other pics are in there.
Don't forget the felines too...!
Here's ole HG with a lioness.
The labrador was (possibly!) a navigator in a He-111...
And although I couldn't find a photograph of the happy couple together, infamous Auschwitz staff member SS-Hauptscharfuhrer Otto Moll was reportedly inseperable from his German Shephard, even riding around the camp with it sat in his sidecar!
Regards,
Carl
