I bought this album and it has pictures of Joachim Lemelsen in too.
It looks like this is Lemelsen with Goebbels - so I am thinking it is an original picture. Just wondering what you guys think about it.
Thanks!

Not a 'private' photograph, but one that was released
for sale to the public as a postcard.
Regards, Steve.
So it might be the real thing then - have any of you seen this - I mean, I know it is hard to recall seeing so many pictures, but maybe this is one that has been recognized?
I dont think this is private photograph, I just dont see why someone would bother taking a photo of goebbels, getting it printed into a postcard and never using it, who would you send it to?
Goebbels does look a bit "stunned" .

Goebbels had a club foot; most public photos were taken above his waist, to hide this, as the Nazis hated any deformities. I'd guess, because of this, that it wouldn't be available for public use. (thus I think it's a private one)

I have to agree with the original photo idea. The soldier in the background is giving the traditional military salute instead of the Heil Hitler salute. Combined with the visible clubed foot theory, I can't imagine this would fit into their propaganda for a pubic release.

Private photos were made into post cards then. Quite common.
With Goebbles very obvious club foot showing I believe it is a private photo.
I would date this picture to 1934-35 based on the Form II visor cap and 1934 pattern national emblem on Goebbels schirmutze. I also agree that this is a private photo. The owner may have ordered multiple copies of which some were mailed to friends. Interesting piece.
