    Canteen with Romanian inscription?

I picked this piece up yesterday, that supposedly came from Latvia. It's a nice canteen, marked SMM41. It has a starnge inscription carved into it, that Google Translate believes to be Romanian, but the translation doesn't make sense. Google Translate says "Turkish money is money" in Romanian, which can't be right. Any translation help would be appreciated!

    That translation had me laughing.

I speak Romanian... poorly... but I can tell you it's the guy's name: Ion Turgu. "Ion" means the name Jon or John. Banesti is a town in Romania.

"Bani" means money in Romanian, which may account for the translation software thinking it was a reference to money. ??

I never thought to read it backwards. That's a good explanation, thanks!
