modern fake,,,looks like it was done with one of those engraving pens...
I agree. Why would they engrave a cross with Swas in centre, sort of thing a modern day enthusiast would do IMO

"In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard." - SS Obergruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Bittrich - Arnhem
Far too fancy to be original. I also don't think any SS units were equipped with the Tiger in 1942.
Cheers, Ade.
I would also imagine if it was genuine it would have a more personal dedication and/or dates on it rather than just a year and 'SS'.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
The tank is well executed though, so whoever
did the artwork is quite talented...........!

That is a fakes made by Vasja - , he likes to destroy original items to engrave to them all kind of garbage. All of the items found with similar inscriptions and engravings got a familiar name- "Vasin foofel"

The guy has talent. He was taught to engrave by an old timer. ( Makes him dangerous ) He uses the old style rocker arm engraving technique. You rarely see that anymore.
To bad he doesn't creat modern engraving and enameling items. He would probably make a hell of a lot more money and not have to worry about getting his butt kicked by folks he has defrauded.

Thanks for all the great comments. I also thought it looked interesting "fakewise" .
