Regarding the restoration of this spare part, I need to look carefully at the remaining paint, maybe I can save something.
In such cases, I take a piece of plywood and cut out an overlay that covers the remaining paint.
Then I fix the plywood with the help of a clamp and take it to sandblasting.
Here is an example of such work
If you are interested, there is something related.
This is the Kasten 1 panel of the commander version of the tiger tank.
This panel did not heal well enough and I managed to buy it for 3 dollars
After cleaning, it will take a worthy place on the shelf of my museum
(thanks to this detail, it was possible to establish that the tiger lost there was the commander's)
The Z23 electrical panel has also been restored
# 3132/42
Great stuff and very interesting too.
It's amazing that such a small item and help identify a Tiger Command version.
Hello everybody
I received a set of four elements of one system.
This is a central gearbox that ensures the rotation of the tank tower and the operation of the pump when it is necessary to pump out the water that got inside the tank.
Part 1 is a cardan shaft that connects the gearbox and the water pump
Part 2 is the water pump connection system.
This block ensures that the pump is activated when the lever is moved
Part 3 is the connecting lever of the water pump mechanism
Part 4 is a technological hatch
from the central gearbox
(its peculiarity is that it has a semicircular cutout on the edge)
This is a sketch of a tiger tank, the entire mechanism is clearly visible here
