Panzer II track link ?

Hi folks, I picked this track link up at a military boot sale. The guy I bought it from informed me that it was from a Panzer II and after looking around the internet I tend to agree although being 44 marked it would be from one of the variants that used that particular chassis. Anyway two questions , One am I right about the i.d. Two should I clean it (I have access to a grit blaster at work) Regards Paul P.S. told the wife that at only £25 it would be not only be an item of high historical interest but also a handy door stop

Not sure what it is from but I would leave it as is. I think it would look better in it's current state then all cleaned up.

Yes you are right about the ID. It is a standard Panzer II track link, Kgs 67/300/90, this was fitted to the Ausf A/B/C/F, Marder II, Sturmpanzer II mit 15cm sIG, Wespe and Maultier Sd.Kfz. 4.

Tracks are the most dirty part of a tank......leave it be......

Personal choice. Me I like to clean them up.

.....well Mr Werfer, actually, and with respect, you like to strip them, red oxide them, re-paint them and then obtain all the other bits and build a complete vehicle......... :-)

Not this time. On second thoughts I do like the wespe, now where did I put my reference books.
