    This was amongst a number of photos given to me of my uncles father who was in the RAF, the photos would appear to predominantly relate to the recovery of German aircraft and Berlin immediately post war.
    I’m assuming it is some sort of small gun tractor but I’ve never see one before. Any ideas what it is and what it was used by the SS for? (From the other images I have it would appear to be on a captured airfield in Germany so I expect the RAF have put it into use moving aircraft and clearing the area)

    My guess is a FAMO rübezahl and I mean a tractor could do a wide range of roles for moving guns or trailers and everything so I guess that’s why the SS had them. i am not really sure of any specific role the SS could have for a tractor. Lucky to have it compared to the horses they usually had to use!

    I didn't know that the SS were attached to airfields moving aircraft, moving guns makes sense.
