thank you! i believe that the white chinstrap was first installed on 1944 dated Ssh40s. but please correct me if i'm wrong.
i honestly couldnt comment hence my question but my thoughts were the strap had yellowed over time to what we see here so though best to confirm ,are these sought after helmets readily available in you part of the world ,here in the uk the seldom come along ,thanks again james

i don't think these starred Ssh36s are readily available anywhere. from what i've experienced, they are rarer than SS helmets, but not as expensive
I totally agree with regards to the star,to find an original period appied is almost impossible,must seen today have been added much more recently to bump up prices............nice Battlefield item to own,thanks for sharing..............
Great example, i can't help thinking they are bloody ugly lids but i'd like one in my collection!...
