Very nice Dim is htere any reason that they made the cap in 1941 without the fur ?

I have one such as this. My theory is that it is not a particular style or purposeful thing, but that the furless exterior is just the end of the bolt of fake fur material. The ends of that bolt of material was probably just the substrate or backing material due to manufacturing methods and if you compare these furless types to the more common fur ones, you can see that the furless material is the same material used to back the fur on fur hats. Look where the fur is worn away on a fur hat and you will see what I mean. It was simply used in expedience to waste nothing.
