Did you happen to get this from Soviet Power - best Soviet militaria, hunting goods, antiques and many other military items If you have never heard of this website you shood look, they have great stuff at great prices!

Did Russian Medics paint a red cross on helmets?...if so does any one have any pics..?

I haven't seen it either. However, I have seen a couple of pictures of Medical Officers with the Red Cross armband. As such, I've added one to my M1940s Major's uniform.
