Opinions on a NKVD visor

Good evening folks,

I really have no knowledge of headgear of the RKKA and I saw this visor for sale. What are your opinions on the authenticity and date of it? I don't have a clue on separating the construction of a war time one from a postwar one. The star is m36, but that doesnt say anything really.

2- Visor and its relationship to the cap itself seems questionable

3- Stamp questionable

4- Sweatband questionable

In other words, better photos are needed for me - even though I am certain Dom will frown upon this one in any case...

Visor are not questionable- it's fake, the hat is fake, nothing to compare with originals. One detailis right, is a liner cloth, but it's not hard to find it nowadays

Thank you Richie. I will message the seller and see if he is willing to give more detailed photos of the item at hand, so you guys can study it further. I have to say that I will be keeping my mitts off of this one.

Thank you Dim! I really need to get my ass up and find photos of proper wartime ones and study them to some lenght. So many postwar caps of these and border guard hats turn up these days.

Of course better photos would be needed but this doesn't look so bad for a 1953 production if I look at the stamp correctly. That would explain the liner and shinstrap.

The chinstrap is indeed a late plastic variation - 70s thru 90s.

Hello Richie,

I agree that is it a plastic version but these started in the mid 50th with some variations. The 3d photo make me think is may be part of the older ones.
If it has to be a fake why making a late periode MVD cap? This is the model used from 52 to 55 so it can definitively not be war time.
