Post War SSh40

Hi all,

Miserable weather at home, so I've decided to take a few photos of my helmet collection. This is a post WW2 SSh40 that I couldn't pass on at the price it was offered.
Unfortunately the liner and chinstrap have obviously been replaced and there's no date or factory marking left. I found that the liner is from a Belgium Gendermarine Riot helmet. I am looking at potentially gutting it out and putting the correct liner and chinstrap back for display purposes.
Also will look at potentially carefully removing the crude star on the front.

Replacement liner of a more correct style fitted. I have kept the Belgian/French Liner that had been fitted to the helmet to one side.

I am unsure whether to keep the star or if anyone has any suggestions on how to remove it.

Hey Matt, I think the new liner looks much better. I would leave that goofy star on there, if you try to remove it with acetone it will probably ruin the paint and look worse.

Replacement liner looks great ,i too would leave the star as it is
