Russian tanker helmet?

Hi,.

Maybe one can help here? I picked this item in North China, and was told that it was used by the Russian Tankers as they liberated North East China in 1945. It has no label inside and its made of dark leather...some scans, though not the best...anyone has an idea if it was US made for the Russians or Russian made?

NIce helmet, but it's not a Soviet production and IMO not for Soviet union.

Hi Neil, obviously based upon the Soviet design. Given the location I would simply be tempted to say it was from the Chinese Peoples Liberation Army. But my knowledge of their uniforms is nil.

Hi Neil, I would seriously doubt that theory. They would have no real contact with Soviet made material to copy from.

Thanks. Well, I will accept that. Though local experts here in China say that in the 1940's and early 1950's China did not have such helmets.

Unfortunately the Russian forum is closed. As I remember there was a reply as the:" Looks like soviet canvas which are 1950's made"
I think it's a Chinese
