I can't help with the dating and since the stamps are none existent due to the rust. I'll leave that to the experts!! But is this a type of paratrooper helmet? It does not have the regular two point connection chin strap that you normally see on a Ssh40. The bales are there but just not being used and the other 4 have been added.
Just trying to learn something here.

It is considered Ssh-40 M (for motorized) and were modified to this configuration post war. Could the helmet itself be a war helmet, maybe but it was modified post war.
