Soviet tank crew helmet
Dear friends,
I am new of this forum: My name is Giovanni, from Milano, Italy.
My reenactment group is the Baltijskij Flot (Baltijskij Flot) associated with "Progetto900" (Associazione Storico Culturale PROGETTO900).
We reenact Red Navy and Red Army.
I am looking for infos regarding the Armoured Crews of the red Army in the WW2.
I know that they used leather first and canvas type during the war.
I wish to know if they used rubberized canvas (a sort of cotton canvas covered bay a layer of rubber) for their helmets too.
Or did they use only canvas and leather type ?
Can somebody help me please ?

Re: Soviet tank crew helmet
Unfortunetely, I do not know much about tanker helmets. You should ask RichieC, or Adrian Stevenson (both forum members). By the way, welcome to the forum, and I would like to compliment you on your English!

Re: Soviet tank crew helmet
To my knowledge, there is no rubberized version of this headgear used during WW2 or after by the Soviet Army. Do you have an example of such? A photo might help solve the mystery.

Re: Soviet tank crew helmet
I have never seen any kind of a rubberized armoured crewman's bump cap. I have seen such troops wearing a rubberized rain cap over the normal canvas bump cap, but never a bump cap that has rubber impregnated in it.
