Looks good to me, great find. I have similar but 1939 made, with thin red star.
Your helmet: -37r = 1937 made
But what is that that white on top, is it possibly white chalk paint remains?
I often hear/read they used chalk paint to apply winter camo on items, because it was easier to wash and clean away after winter.
It's seems a late 1937 size 3 from the cold stamp located on the side of the helmet. In late 1937 the cold stamp move from the back interior to the side of the helmet. Why? Because the ballistic testing was done at the back of the helmet. The size should also be in the top part of the black ink stamp rectangle, seems partly or totally erased. Once you get the helmet you will see a lot better, let us know. I think you found a good one at a good price.

Hi Axel, good original Russian helmet, congratulations!

Here´s an example of a white chalk "camo" painted helmet to compare with. I was fortunate to accuire the helmet a couple of years ago.

Wow! You won a helmet collector's lottery! I see a Ssh 39 among the other helmets. I'm happy for youThanks for all the replies, seems like I got lucky again. The Ssh36 came in a lot of 6 helmets. Technically the SSH36 was only 36 euros. A deal I would make anyday.

Nice catch !
The 39 looks very interesting, early and apparently produced by LMZ ...
