Balmberger Buckle

Hi all, I should have bought this buckle ages ago but luckily it was sat quietly in Bill Sheas for sale bits for ages and now I have it. It is only the second buckle by this maker that I have seen, hence I should have bought it when I first saw it. Anyway, nice Heer buckle by the maker Carl Balmberger from Nurnberg, he was not on the M4 makers list but I believe had a M1 contract, an M9 and maybe another. Another nice rare maker goes into the collection

I think it has got to the stage now with so many people collecting, that if you see something nice it is best not to hesitate, but to grab it. I think you did well to get this buckle.

Thanks Ade, story of my life, I seem to spend most of it raising funds for buckles, you are lucky and have Les who collects with you, my wife hates this stuff

Hi Ben, yes our only problem is that we have only so much spare cash for collecting, so it is often who sees something first gets to spend it on "their" collection
