    Hello,
To put it very carefully (pictures are not ideal)...Reichswehr/early Wehrmacht are possible.
The seams are made with black or white thread?
The smooth side of the leather is on the inside of the belt?
    Thanks and Greetings

I'm not sure you could pinpoint an arm of service to this, but lederwerk isn't really my forté.

    Thanks for adding the information...
According to the evidence, everything points to production before 1945...
Before 1936, in the Reichswehr or early Wehrmacht, the nickel/silver hook speaks, in order to verify it precisely, unfortunately no there is no date/troop marking.
Fire brigade (civilian use) until 1945 is also possible...
    Greetings

    Hello Colt.

Can you explain why this belt is post WW2. I am not an equipment collector and can't understand what the proof you post is. I can see the buckle you posted is post war, but how does this mean the belt is post war.

    Kind regards,

    Will.

    Hello,
Yes, the early GDR also had such hooks/belts...
That's why it's necessary to take a look at the leather, the seams and, if there are any, stamps.
    By the way..
The easiest way to recognize GDR goods is by looking at the leather itself. The rough leather side of such straps is always on the inside and the smooth side is on the outside. Before 1945, army belts were made with the rough leather side on the outside and the smooth leather side on the inside. Vice versa in the GDR. DDR belts also have black seams, on the hook catch and adjustment tongue seam. The resistance is extremely short or not immediately present.
So just comparing the hook doesn't really help much, since the Reichswehr/civilian organizations also used such belts before 1945.
