Re: Heer Buckle by Dr. F & Co. 1940: Authentic Buckle?
Upon a 2nd quick look, it seems that the eagle's head might suspect...I don't know, really and it's not the best picture of the roundel in my opinion. Also, the buckle surface & paint looks a bit rough all-around...

Re: Heer Buckle by Dr. F & Co. 1940: Authentic Buckle?
Adam, please tell your friend, that he should pass on this buckle!
It is a fake wich is well known for many years and this is indeed easy to spot for instance by the ugly eagle's head and the fold over parts on the back side (ears).

Guido

I agree with Guido, the pigeon head strikes again.

Thanks so much, guys...I'll let him know. It didn't feel good to me and yes, the eagle's head was definitely suspect for the ugly "budgie" appearance.
Best,
Adam

Re: Heer Buckle by Dr. F & Co. 1940: Authentic Buckle?
Not forgetting of course that the original buckle makers name has an underscore to the r of Dr., whilst the fake has the supposed underscore drifting over to the right.
