Article about: I purchased a German WWII belt buckle at an auction and found no makers marks. Any help in opinions on authenticity would be greatly appreciated!

    I'm pretty new to collecting WWII relics and appreciate the reply, I found the 42 stamp. Is that a good sign of its authenticity. Sorry for the amateur questions.

    According to the data base of fake heer buckles, I have found a couple of examples that do not represent this piece.. I believe it MAY be legit.. Hopefully Ben, Kirby or Marcus and a host of others can prove or on this subject..

    Not a buckle guy so can't comment on authenticity but if it is real, it looks like someone really tried to clean up the front. Looks heavily scrubbed.

    Another oddity is that in the database most have the HA logo on the left and date to the right on the obverse.
    Quite different here on the original posters example..
