Hmm, this kind of makes me want to avoid that site in the future. Really a shame, since they’re in my city and I could virtully go there if I wanted - Deliveries only take 1 day.

Really thought they were well known and respected from what I’ve read. What about you guys: Heard of them before or bought items from there? Experiences?

They're not one I've heard of. Can't speak for others here, but perhaps they're well known only in Sweden? The most trustworthy dealers tend to have good reputations that travel internationally.

I googled them a while back and they showed up in several forum posts around the web, being praised for their reputation and knowledge. That’s why I figured they were a safe bet. But I guess I’ve learned my lesson now...

I’ve only bought ww2 militaria online 3 times: Twice from MA Stockholm and once from JP-Militaria in Germany. Until this time with the buckle, I was happy with what I received. That being said - This obviously makes me want to crosscheck the authenticity of every single medal i ever bought from MA Stockholm...

Some dealers specialise in certain areas, and though they stock items from other categories, may not know them very well. If the dealer offers a returns period, I'd take full advantage of it in this case. You can always post the other items you've already purchased on the forum, and the knowledgeable folks here will be able to help you. Any future purchases should also be posted here first. It saves you a lot of blood, toil, tears and sweat in the long run.

That’s a thought that crossed my mind as well: Maybe buckles aren’t their strongest area...
I went ahead and posted my iron cross 1st class over in the awards section. Really hope that isn’t shot down as well, since it was really high up on my wishlist and is now my favorite item (along with my 2nd class cross)! :-)

A lot of dealers don't know buckles. It has helped me get some bargains from some well known dealers. I do lose respect for dealers who don't pull a fake when they are informed. Auction houses are better about pulling fakes. Ratisbon, Grenider and Gottlieb have all pulled buckles I told them were fake.

    A short update on this:

I contacted the seller, let them know I had received a fake and that I was disappointed they hadn't identified it as such. I received a reply fairly quickly and they have offered to give me a full refund.

According to them, the buckle was part of a large lot, which had belonged to a known collector and because they received their buckles shortly before their site update, they hadn't bothered to crosscheck the authenticity, assuming it was all genuine - They did apologize for having been unprofessional and said they were embarrassed about it.

Given that I've been happy with them in the past and their good rep in general, I'm going to go ahead and trust them. But I will crosscheck their items before buying from now on...

Good to hear this update. The dealer is a Forum sponsor here on WRF, so I thought things would work out and you would get a refund.

Just a note, they still have an bad steel RAD buckle on their site for 35 Euro. Hope they pull it so no one buys this buckle.
