Afrikakorps breast eagle - information please

Hello,

I acquired this DAK breast eagle in trade ... the interesting bit being that it was still attached to a piece of the shirt cloth with the stitching for the pocket flap still apparent.
can someone tell me a little bit more about it - pattern, maker, period etc?
