Hi
Would a WW2 German Army leather coat have any markings i.e numbers stamped on the inside liner? I am just trying to establish if this is a period piece.

Hi, being private purchase items these are often devoid of markings, bar perhaps a tailors label.
That looks like a good wartime example; note the dagger hanger, buttons, slip on shoulder boards etc.
Cheers, Ade.
G'day
It looks to have press snap buttons? maybe have a look to see if there is a maker on them, at least you may find out that they could be a German brand, like Prym (I think I spelt it correctly)

Nice Jacket
Looks original to me.Is it full length or only half as it seems to be quite short like my U-boat coat?
Mine has Marine markings under the left hand flap but otherwise zilch. Also it has blanket type lining and seals inside sleeves.

Hi Tom
The coat is full length. I am 5ft 10 and if i put the coat on it reaches my ankles!

Thanks kindly!
I thought about it later and was thinking it did indeed look like it was full length not half like mine
Nice pickup too
