Thank you for starting a new thread! I got this from a collector who passed away some time ago. He believed it was authentic, but I had not seen a back quite like this one online.

    You're welcome.
There should be a third pin at the center bottom but I am not keen on these ones with the rounded ends on the pins.

Thank you for showing me these images. I don't know what to think, I was going to just sell it anyway. Perhaps it will still be of interest to someone. This site is great, and really appreciate the help!

    Hello,
It might be a fake, but there was a third pin at the center bottom, it's now broken
    Thanks

There is definitely evidence that there was a third pin. It looks like it had some plating, some worn spots show. I wonder if I should polish it. The piece was collected by a well known Canadian Artist who made a very cool painting of it. The painting is worth a lot and luckily I own it. He gifted it to me when I got the painting. I will post an image of it. Collectors of the pins may find it cool!

First rule of thumb with actual relics is to never clean or polish them, the aged patina is preferred. In this case I would probably still leave it as is since you own the painting based on this skull. Can you post a picture of the painting on this thread ? I would love to see it. Thanks, Al.
