Can somebody identify this pin?

Hello all,

I purchased a Sauer 38H yesterday that came with its original holster. There’s a pin attached to the strap that secures the pistol in the holster. Most likely done by the GI that brought this piece home.

I’m just wondering what kind of a pin from an epaulet is it?
