Article about: Courtesy of my cross-town friend, a Panzer waffenrock for a reserve Hauptmann attached to a Panzerzug (armored train)--it is as mint as the day it was made:

Very nice stoney! If I may, here is my Waffenrock to an instructor/cadre member at the Heeres-Unteroffiziervorschule IV in Tetschen.

T, that is fantastic (but you better not let CTF see it--he will be hitting you up for it!)

    Thanks!
Good thing CTF is not on here then! Let's keep it between us.

An urban legend in the militaria community is that there were no EM/NCOs who were assigned to the General Staff.
This hyper-rare tunic disproves that myth:

    Lovely tunic!
Logic disproves that myth. Who was going to drive the officers around, inspect the guards, make sure the office supplies were ordered, the offices maintained, the coffee made, the document copies typed up? Sure they had some civil servants working there too, but look at the Pentagon. Even at the highest level headquarters, there are EM/NCO roles to be filled.

    Cavalry 'rock in mint condition.
The tunic is named to Jürgen von Flotow of Kavallerie-Schützen-Regiment 9.
He later transferred to Panzer, and ordered a matching 'rock (which my friend does not have, but hopefully they will be reunited).

CTF and I have been discussing those two Waffenröcke over the past few days via email.
