Hi, the felt on the backside is missing. The yellow color of the letters and the eagle looks too new. I think its a late overpainting.
Thanks for your reply
From memory the late war gorgets were cardboard backed I think?
I can't see any red flags on this one... It's correct, cardboard late war, the first made of cloth backing
Regards,
Dan
Thanks Dan
Agreed. This is a later war example when the card replaced the cloth. Original.
Cheers, Ade.

I'm not seeing anything fake about it, but the dark spot on the eagle is troubling-is it broken or just chipped in the paint? And, speaking of paint, have you tested it? Does it still glow? These Radium paint gorget's had quite good glow power to them and quite often-even today-strongly glow.

I think it is chipped paint.
Mine still glows!

Thanks for the responses guys. Wagriff, The seller has told me that it still glows.
Good original piece. I don't think the difference between cloth and card backing necessarily relates to early/late, just different manufacturers preferences.
