Gestapo Shoulder Board?

I recently picked up a single shoulder board at an auction. It was identified as a Gestapo shoulder board based on a comparable item for sale on snyderstreasures.com.

I've been told by someone else that it's not Gestapo, it's a COMMON shoulder board used by auxiliary police in foreign countries - but he's also interested in purchasing it.

Can anyone else provide any additional information? Thanks very much!

I concur with my colleague. This is a Schuma shoulder strap. The Gestapo was a secret police organization. They would not remain secret for long if they wore a uniform. It is not a common shoulder strap.

I agree with my forum friends Dimas and Bob. This is a nice item. If you do a search you will find a fair amount of info online regarding this organisation.

Great Schuma board. Yes, tough to find. As I understand it these guys were heavily involved in some very dirty work (Einsatzgruppen, anti-partisan operations etc). Many of these guys ended up with the Russians at the end of the war, hence the relative scarcity of Schuma items overall...
