The cloth is the interesting part here. It looks old, especially the paper backing...

the cloth backing may be interesting but it adds no substantial value to the main item, and still it can hardly be ascertained,who are when the backing was added to the eagle and for what reason...

I have to say that I would be tempted to try and remove the backing cloth, Very carefully so you can replace it and look for any makers marks etc.. Though only if it can be replaced without damaging it.

An interesting and puzzling item and hopefully an answer can be found for this item.

I will not remove the cloth, it would loose much if its charm if i do so. And It would be very hard to put it back. Dont want to risk breaking a prongs...

Tho it's very tempting...

It is an odd bird with that backing cloth and triple pin arrangment !
Unusual...... It seems a KM officer breast eagle from the design,
but I've never seen this type of reverse before.
