    I won't take credit for this little ditty, but I found it on the net some time ago, and thought it would be of some interest.

    How many times have you heard
    "what yellow......... pink............ red, do you think that is?"

    difficult? yes...........hope this clarifies

    thanks, I knew a few colors, but very few, still don't understand why panzer units were pink? they should have been more like blood red, but I guess red has usually always been an artillery color, but then again , blue was usually a inf. color

    There is also a complete listing in "the Bible", (Brian L Davis' German Army Uniforms and Insignia 1933 - 1945. Section 1.6 on page 18 onwards)

    Ian, that has long passed as being the bible.

    There were, at the time, much better books out there, the only difference was there was no internet then (can you believe that?).

    So you only knew what was available at the time you went into the book shop That's why I always took a trip down to Foyles, in Charring Cross. They had the Bender/ Angolia books in stock. (For Fuhrer & Fatherland 1976!) I've still got Mollo's SS books priced at 60 shillings each! (£3) Now that is still regarded by some as the bible.
    I have quite a few "little ditties" I will put up, the only problem is finding them!

    There are a few missing colors as well...

    Penal- Lack of waffenfarbe
    Military police- Orange
    Beamte- Dark Green(Nebenfarbe chart would be nice for the various specialties)
    Chaplain- Violet
    Geologist- Salmon
    Construction- Light Brown
