Info about the officer issued clothing

Hi gents,
i'm wondering what what were the rules that govern the clothing of officers in wartime. In particular, with regard to the issued clothing (the same of the troops), were they obliged to pay it or was it as a free loan?

Officers had to pay for their own uniforms; as partial compensation, they received a one-time grant upon the start of their career as well as a monthly clothing allowance. Official regulations specified the kind and number of uniform items an officer had to have in his possession.

Service uniforms were normally tailor-made. Regulation uniform items, cloth, furnishings and insignia for tailor-made uniforms, shirts, underwear and certain pieces of equipment (for example map cases, sleeping bags, suitcases, spurs etc.) could be purchased from the central Kleiderkasse der Offiziere [officers' uniform store] in Berlin, in which every officer was a compulsory member.

Enlisted-grade uniform pieces (like the field uniforms that were to be worn by officers up to and including the duty position of regimental commanders when deployed) could be obtained directly from unit stores against payment of the cost price.

Certain types of protective-, work- and special clothing (for example tropical uniforms) and certain kinds of equipment were loaned free of charge.
