Hello all, I recently picked up a small collection which had several repro items in the mix but I had to buy it all or none. Included was this armband.In trying to research it, I stumbled across a website purporting that it was a late war produced item. I was just wondering if this was an actual period item or a fantasy piece?
here is a photo from the "Unknown Website" For what its worth, The item I have looks Identical and does not fluoresce under BlackLight. I know that is not the deciding factor but any info or thoughts would be appreciated!
Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army Volume II, shows a very similar arm band in their Volkssturm section, it states " black print on tan for wear with SA or Political Leaders tunic". Great book by the way, especially if you collect Volkssturm items.
This looks like one of the epic militaria repros or one of the newer repros.. The font on the repros is always cartoony almost vs the orginal.
