If you search the LW reference books, there is mention of a group called the Generalluftzeugmeisterei (or G-L for short). Their role was to facilitate the procurement and distribution of all forms of logistical support to Luftwaffe units in occupied countries.
Very little is known about this group and the waffenfarbe is theorized(Angolia's theory) to be Red.
This group that I just found came from a Museum and Norway. It is the only such uniforms I have ever seen, outside of period photographs. I was lucky to obtain not only the tunic, but also the overcoat.
The GL utilized captured uniforms. THe overcoats were dyed black. The thing that blows my mind is the presence of the yellow waffenfarbe on the overcoat. I have no idea what it means. It could pertain to a position, job, title, or even district.
These men were not considered to be military, but uniformed civilians.
I look forward to any comments, additions, or etc. If you have some period photos, please feel free to post them!
