Small Danziger Traditions TK
Here's an interesting little skull that arrived today. It's similar to the Danziger traditions and early SS skulls but smaller than a panzer skull. It was described as a Heer panzer traditions skull as used on visors or shoulder boards. It looks very similar to the Totenkopf stickpins I have that are associated with Kavallerie-Regiment 5. I'd be very interested in seeing it in use in a photograph if possible. All thoughts and opinions are welcome. Thanks, Al

Sales board sample, perhaps?

Not sure but I think the answer lies in this photo from one of Robin Lumsden's old thread which contains a picture of his advanced collection of Totenkopfs. I circled it in red. Maybe he can give us some insight if he sees this thread.

It's a nice early one also used on early panzer tabs

I found a thread on the "WAF" in which Mr. Lumsden stated that this type of skull was originally intended for wear on the collar by Kavallerie-Regiment 5 in Reichswehr times and also subsequently used on panzer collar tabs. So I wasn't too far off the mark associating them with the KR5 stickpins. I also see a picture of this skull on one of his books

Panzer Traditions TK
I acquired another one of these early Kav. 5 or Panzer Traditions Tk's. This one appears to be cupal as opposed to the zinc Tk that started this thread. I took numerous pictures alongside a vareity of panzer TK's, Danziger TK's and Kav 5 stickpins to illustrate the different variety and sizes.
Cheers, Al
