Wanting infomation on my boot purchase

Hi Everyone,

I recently picked these up for a really good price (too good to turn down) from my go-to dealer. I'm fairly certain they are German WW2, but wanting some further information from the experts on here.
- The heel appears it has been replaced at some point, as I haven't seen German boots with a rubber heel.
- There are no holes from hob nails in the sole
- I've never seen boots with the buckles at the top. Is this a different type of boot or something?
- On the sole, I can make out a '42' and a '6'. I'm assuming this is a year and size?
- On the sole of the boot (inside), there is a '41' stamped.
- There is what appears to be a name tag on the pull tabs

Just wanting people's thoughts and information on what they see when they look at the photos.

They're not regulation boots, only privately purchased boots for an Officer.
This type of boots was produced between the 20's and the 60's.

The heel : i see no problem with a Continental rubber heel, it could be original to the boots. Remember that they're not regulation...

hobnails : usually there are no nails on this type of boots

buckle on the shaft : there are known photos that show such buckles on wartime boots like these

42 is not the year, IMO that's the size (that is in centimeters on regulation boots)

The tag could be priod applied or not, impossible to say if it has been added in 1943 or 1959...

Indeed 42 is the size of the boot and the 6 is the width of the boot.

Thank you for the information! This helps narrow down exactly what they are. They look good in my collection, so I'm not terribly fussed if they're not strictly from the ww2 era.
