Hello again. Today I'm showing off my Carl Eickhorn Heer Dagger. In the forum I found very detailed information about this type of daggers, with the help of which I was able to draw the following conclusion. My dagger has a Second type logo used from 35 to 41, the crossguard is type 4 used from 37 to 42, the handle is type B most common, the blade is the later type (shouldered tang blade) and has no marks on it just a small dark rectangle , but this could also be a metal defect. The scabbard is a late type with one screw. I also looked at many images of daggers that were assembled from original parts, but from non-matching periods. I think the parts of this dagger match. I ask for your professional opinion. I must have missed some important details and I am still not convinced of my judgement.

Well Georgi its always nice to see if someone takes the effort to find out what he has, and your nailed it!

    Nice type 4, completely textbook!
Now you have to find an army Portpee, as this short one is for a luftwaffe dagger.

    Congratz, a nice dagger.

That's a very nice example indeed! I love the patina on this one. A keeper for sure.

    Danny
