This one happened to me a few days ago.
I'm really glad I found it as I was looking for this particular model.
I love the eagle of the crossguard type 3, it is in quite good condition it remains a good part of its original finish with a very beautiful blade and a marking of the second type.
The scabbard is type 2 and in great condition .
Grip is type C model (I think...)

Now I would need an Eickhorn type 1 but not easy....

    Regards

    Cedrick

Another nice addition to your collection. I really like Eickhorn as a maker. They made great quality pieces. Congratulations!

yes I completely agree with you Danny.
We recognize the quality finish and manufacture at Eickhorn.
I wondered what would be the price for an officer who wanted to buy a dagger from a quality manufacturer at the time ?...

Interesting question. Prices can be found in the Eickhorn catalogue. I have one myself. I'll have to check. But those prices mean nothing if we don't know what an officer earned monthly in that period. Does anyone have info an the salary of a german officer during WW2?

I recall Wittmann was mentioning it in one of his videos on youtube. But I don't remember which one of the "WAM Journal #Number". It is not in KM video.

In my Eickhorn catalogue it says following:
Nr. 1702 Offiziersdolch vorschriftmäsig 11.50 RM
    mit Elfenbeingriff 21.50 RM

So the normal one according to regulations 11.50 Reichs Mark
same one with ivory grip 21.50 Reichs Mark

    Regards
    Ger
